John B. Vallely is a professional artist based in Armagh, Ireland. In the course of his artistic education he was deeply impressed by a work by Goya, El 3 de mayo en Madrid, also known as Los fusilamientos or, in English, The 3rd of May 1808. It depicts the execution by Napoleonic troops of Spanish rebels against the occupation. Two centuries later, Vallely paid tribute to the people of Gaza who were also subject to violent repression by an occupying army. This vast canvas, 3rd May 2008, is on display in Benburb Priory, near Armagh, but a special limited edition of prints of it was produced in 2026 to complement and complete his most recent series of paintings, responding to two great atrocities: the genocidal campaigns against Native Americans, and against the people of Gaza.

100% of profits benefit the Lakota and the people of Gaza
After essential expenses such as printing, website fees, sales processing fees and packaging, the net income from all sales will be divided equally between two non-profits: the Gaza Paediatric Care Initiative, based in Dublin, and Pathstar, a US 501(c)3 foundation working to promote the health and welfare of Native American communities including the Lakota. This project is administered by unpaid volunteers.
